The amount of damage caused by Toxic increases every round - so take your time and put your opponent's Pokemon to sleep again if it wakes up. All you have to do now is sit back and use Dream Eater (which drains a sleeping opponent's HP). If successful (Hypnosis has a 60% success ratio), immediately follow up with Toxic to poison your opponent. My favorite maneuver for Haunter and its brethren is to combine the power of Toxic with Confuse Ray or a Sleep move (like Hypnosis). But Ghost techniques are only strong against other Ghost Pokémon, so you should probably just teach your Ghost Poison and Psychic techniques instead. Sadly, there are also only three real Ghost techniques, two of which are decent (Confuse Ray and Nightshade). It actually makes the Pokémon immune to Normal and Fighting attacks. While most dual types have double the amount of weaknesses of single types, the dual Ghost nature doesn't really add any new weaknesses. ![]() Like Rock types, Ghost Pokémon also only exist in dual form in Pokemon Blue, Red and Yellow - and all three Ghosts in the game are dual Ghost/Poison types. But never mind the stats, ghost Pokémon are so rare, it's almost a sin to pass up training Haunter (and eventually Gengar). ![]() Although it's not quite as powerful as Gengar, it's got excellent HP, Speed and Special stats. Tips: Haunter is Gastly's more vicious form. This Pokémon naturally learns the following techniques: Locations: You can catch Haunter yourself in the Pokemon Tower in all three versions, or simply raise Gastly to level 28 or higher to evolve it. It causes shaking that won't stop until the victim's demise.
